BamaCarry Press Release

9 Oct from BamaCarry Inc.

October 9, 2024

For Immediate Release * BamaCarry is taking action against the recent ordinance
passed by the Montgomery City Council.

The new Montgomery City ordinance mandates that individuals must possess a valid photo ID to carry a firearm within the city limits of Montgomery.

This ordinance is in violation of Alabama state law. Despite this, Montgomery Mayor Steven Reed proceeded to sign the ordinance into effect. In response to this, BamaCarry Board Members Kale Hollon and James D Jones, have filed a Petition in accordance with Ala. Code § 13A-11-61.3 of the Alabama Firearms and Weapons Law with the State Attorney General’s Office.

BamaCarry has been informed that the Attorney General’s Office is currently conducting an investigation into this matter. Should the city fail to rescind this ordinance, BamaCarry, in collaboration with GOA, is fully prepared to take legal action by filing a lawsuit against the City of Montgomery and Mayor Steven Reed.
